About Counselling

I believe the quality of the relationship between counsellor and client is key for therapy to be effective. For this reason, I suggest an initial free introductory conversation by phone, which can last up to 30minutes. This is an opportunity for you to share all that has weighed you down and brought you to counselling at this time and what you would like to change in your life. Above all, this is your opportunity to understand how I work so you can make an informed decision about whether I'm the right person to support you and to ask any questions you may have. If you decide that you would like to move ahead we can then agree on when we can meet on future occasions. I can then send the counselling paperwork to you by email (if you have access) before our first session, to minimise the time spent completing this in our first meeting. Payment is made in cash at the start of the session or by bank transfer at least two hours before the start of the session. Paperwork consists of a counselling contract and data processing form which need to be completed prior to counselling starting.
Who I help: I work with adults, teenagers or children. I currently do not provide counselling for couples.

Where I work: I am based in Rugby, Warwickshire, and work from a dedicated therapy room, wheel chair accessible. Free parking is available.

Time: Sessions are usually held weekly on the same day and at the same time, and last 50 minutes.
Types of sessions: We can work face-to-face, online via secure video platform Zoom or by phone. A blend of in-person and remote sessions can be provided should your circumstances make this necessary. Our work can be time-limited – most suited to working through a specific issue or difficult life transitions, such as a bereavement – or ongoing over a longer term.
Payment: The cost per session is £50 payable in advance, details included in the counselling contract.
