How Person-Centred Therapy for

Anxiety can help

Person Centred Therapy for Anxiety focuses on helping you to achieve several goals, starting with creating a trusting therapeutic relationship, I will encourage you to openly express your emotions, learn new coping strategies, and develop self-awareness and self-acceptance.

I will work with you to understand and empathise with your experiences and feelings, through examining your world and behaviours; and by reflecting on your understanding of them, identifying possible patterns which could contribute to your anxiety.

Together we can work on building your self-confidence: By recognising and developing your unique strengths, you can gain the confidence you need to be able to manage your anxiety.

By developing a supportive, honest relationship with you, accepting and valuing you without judgement, I can help to provide the emotional support needed as you go through difficult times.

I can help you achieve these goals by:

Listening and enquiring empathetically, to help you gain insights into your feelings and behaviours leading you developing a deeper self-understanding of the cause and possible solutions to your anxiety.

Encouraging you to share past experiences that may contribute to the cause of your anxiety, helping you to understand your current emotional reactions.

Considering coping strategies such as incorporating regular exercise into your day, practicing relaxation techniques like deep breathing or mindfulness, and building a strong support network of friends, family, or support groups
